Storyline
As portrayed in 2015 in the Rogue Nation after Solomon Lane was arrested his firm transforms later within few years into a terrorist organization which came to be known as the Apostles. Ethan Hunt then receives a task of fetching the plutonium cores from Germany. He then disguises himself as John Lark with Benji and Luther for the mission where things go rogue and he is exposed and Luther is captivated as hostage leaving Plutonium un-fetched. Fake CNN news is circulated with attacks related to the same plutonium later.
Unhappy with the failed attempt CIA appoints another personnel named August Walker who would accompany Ethan who by the time had figured out another meeting of John Lark regarding plutonium deals with a woman named White Widow at Gala, Paris. Lark dies in a quarrel with Hunt as Ilsa kills him meddling in between. Ethan tries disguising again as Lark and can procure one plutonium core only. Walker meanwhile persuades Salone (CIA Director) in believing that Ethan was Lark whole time. Ilsa reveals about Lane`s involvement and Ethan abducts her waiting for the exchange of remaining two cores. But in a surprise turn, it`s Walker who emerges as Lark and has the remaining 2 cores in exchange for framing Ethan. Walker then kills Hanley (IMF Director) and flees to Kashmir tracked by a transmitter embedded in Lane.
Conclusion
Walker had plans to neutralize almost all population of India, China, and Pakistan meanwhile holding hostage Ethan`s wife Julia. Amidst all the hustle Ethan approaches Julia and Luther along with her find the cores whereas Ethan runs after Walker who had the detonator\s. In a long fight between Walker and Ethan in a helicopter, Ethan kills Walker throwing him off the copter. Then, Ethan, Benji, and Ilsa disarm the cores. Later Sloane hands over Solomon Lane into the custody of MI6 and Julia thanks Ethan for the life he has given.
